My husband, Ivan, and I live in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains of southwest Virginia.  Salem is just off Exit 140 on I-81 outside of Roanoke, VA.  We have lived in Montreal (Ivan is from Tignish, Prince Edward Island, Canada), North Carolina, Alabama, Florida and now we’re back to hometown in Virginia. 

Many years ago in the late 60’s, 70’s and early 80’s, long before I met Ivan,  show dogs became a part of my life.  Golden Retrievers were the dogs I showed in conformation, obedience and even did a little field work.    I was lucky enough to own and finish, completely owner handled, a beautiful bitch, Ch. Starfarm Jessica CD.  She finished in style with two Group placements, a Winners Bitch over 48 other bitches at the Golden Retriever Eastern Regional Specialty and a third in the Open Class at the Golden Retriever Club of American National Specialty.

Later, my life led me out of dogs and it would be the year 2000 before the time was right to begin again to show dogs. 

My track record with Jessie helped, I believe, in my efforts to obtain a wonderful whippet show prospect from Bo Bengtson of Bohem Whippets.  I flew to Santa Barbara, CA in November 2000 to bring Justin home to Florida.  He was 11 weeks old…thus begins the story of my involvement in whippets.
